AMES I.T. Academy is the leading provider of and specialising in I.C.T. vocational training in New Zealand, delivering the latest curricula to offer high quality, internationally recognised I.T. certifications and diplomas.
Since 1994 AMES I.T. Academy has been training students to successfully gain Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA certifications, by adopting industry developed curricula that directly relates to these certifications and current industry needs.
Located in the Auckland C.B.D, AMES I.T. Academy city campus is a modern and attractive educational institution with friendly and open student lounges and quiet study areas. AMES I.T. Academy city campus is in close proximity to the main downtown shopping area and all major bus routes and railway.
In 2007 a campus on the North Shore was opened followed by the opening of a campus in Hamilton in 2009. Both campuses are modern and spacious which encourage student learning and located in the heart of their respective locations.
A unique feature of our course delivery is that all qualifications can be offered at three separate times; morning, afternoon and evenings thus allowing people the flexibility to chose the study time that best suits them.
Class Sizes
At AMES I.T. Academy, class sizes are kept small (maximum of 15) in order to allow and encourage an open and healthy learning environment. This allows for a highly active, hands-on interaction and participation between both the student and their tutor as well as between the students themselves to flourish.
AMES I.T. Academy is well known for its successful completion rates and prides itself in placing students into the workforce. Our onsite Business Development Manager works with students during and after their study to assist them in job searching, resume preparation and interview skills.
AMES I.T. Academy constantly modifies the technical and employability skills included in its courses, giving our students the complete training they need to gain successful employment.
International Students
AMES Training and Resource Ltd. is a signatory to the ‘Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students’ as set out by the New Zealand Ministry of Education.
The welfare and steady progress of a student in their chosen field of study is very important to us. AMES I.T. Academy has an excellent support team for international students to provide ongoing support and guidance.
AMES I.T. Academy has a fair and equitable internal procedure for the resolution of international student grievances and to advise students of the external review sources that are available.
Future Goals
- To develop pathways to enable students to continue with higher and more advanced levels of learning. This will be done by developing strategic alliances and partnerships between AMES I.T. Academy and other tertiary providers, both domestic and international.
- Build closer relationships with the local and regional schools boards to encourage more school leavers to choose AMES I.T. Academy for vocational training. This will be carried out by increasing the active relationship that currently exists between AMES I.T. Academy and the secondary school sector.
- Continue to offer programmes that allow people in the workplace to up-skill or re-train and achieve international qualifications and certifications.
- To offer support to those people who are disadvantaged or in need. This will be done by offering either full or partial scholarships. Suitable candidates are brought to the attention of AMES I.T. Academy by various community groups that have a regular contact with AMES I.T. Academy.
- Continue to develop high quality, high strategic and specialist I.C.T courses to train both domestic and international students.
